“Seeking the Truth” by Andrew Ellis

There are many things people try to find today. Some people strive to find happiness. Others try to find success. Overall, one thing I believe most people want is the truth. A lot of times the truth is not what we wish to hear, rather it is something that needs to be heard. It provides clarity in many situations. Often in society, the truth might not be told or communicated properly. There is a lot of misinformation being presented as well as agendas being driven. This ends up clouding what is the truth for a lot of people. During times of doubting what the truth is for many situations, where can we go for knowledge? Where can we find the truth? God’s Word is the ultimate resource we go to for answers. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

Being truthful is something that should be expected, but that is not always the case. God’s Word is truthful. It should be the number one place we go to for the answers we are looking for in life. As Christians, one of the best things we could do in life is to be honest with everyone we interact with. Ephesians 4:25 says, “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.”

Truthfulness allows for people to know what is right and wrong. It allows people to self-evaluate and grow. Overall, being truthful is the right thing to do.
