“Personal Renaissance” by Andrew Ellis

Some changes are occurring in my personal life. For the first time, I will be the only person living in my residence. For the foreseeable future, it will just be my dog and me under the same roof. While this will be a transitional period in my life, I am looking at it as an opportunity for a renaissance. It is a renewal opportunity to not only my living situation but for life in general.

When each of us puts on Christ in baptism, we go through a renewal in our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” The change in our lives when we are baptized is unlike anything else we experience. We put away the things that caused us to sin and walk a new life.

Even though I will be going through an adjustment in my life, I look forward to what the future holds. It is an opportunity to face new challenges and grow in the process. Each of us has an opportunity to have a renaissance of our own. We can have renewal overtime in anything we can think of with the right mindset. There could be many reasons people are afraid of change. It could be uncertainty. It could be fear. It could be that some have become too comfortable with their current situation. What is holding us back from having a renaissance of our own?
