“Trust” by Andrew Ellis

I have always been someone who strives to do as many things possible without asking for assistance. There are times in my personal life in which I have a difficult time asking others for help when I need it. Sometimes, I do not trust as many people as I should in certain situations. While I feel like at times I cannot trust anyone, I need to put my trust in God at all times. Who can we trust? We can trust God. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” When we put on Christ in baptism, we need to not only believe that Jesus was the son of God, but we need to trust that he will provide us what we need. This requires an effort on our end to build trust with God. Events will occur and naturally, there could be a reaction to question why God allows it to happen. We may not understand why certain things happen in life, but there needs to be trust put into developing a stronger trust with God knowing that he has a plan for each of us. He will never put us in a position we are not capable of handling. If we ever feel there is no one we can trust, we can trust in God. As we are still in the early stages of the new year, how is our trust in God? Is it in a good place or does it need some improving?
