“There’s Nothing Fake About It” by Andrew Ellis

During the holiday season, there are many things that are planned out. What we give someone for Christmas, how much we budget to buy gifts, where we spend the holidays, how much we travel during that time, etc. Working out these logistics during the holiday season can be exhausting, but despite the chaos that might be evident, there are always efforts to aid others.

There are special causes such as toy drives and food drives this time of year to help make a difference in communities. These are opportunities to show God’s love to those we serve. While we are commanded to serve others, it is important to be sure the way we behave is authentic.

Romans 12:9 says, “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.”

We should keep this in mind not only during the holiday season but every day. Our actions should display a certain genuineness. As Christians, there should be nothing fake about what we do. Our good works should be done because it is the right thing to do.

When we serve others, our actions should be genuine and bring glory to God. People should know we are Christians based on our actions. Sometimes, we may have the right intentions, but our intentions need to balance with our actions.

When it comes to being a faithful Christian, there is nothing fake about it. Let’s be sure our faith is on display not only during the holiday season but every day.
